Program Summary
As a licensed and approved post-secondary institution in Alberta, ABM College delivers the Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Provincial Curriculum (2019), the standardized curriculum for education and training of Health Care Aides across the province.
The Health Care Aide Certificate Program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required to provide basic health services and support with daily living activities for clients in a variety of health care settings.
Through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory training, and practicum experience, students develop the ability to provide safe and effective care while adhering to industry standards, ethical practices, and workplace safety requirements.

First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certificate
This training is a clinical requirement for practicum placement and a vital, job-ready skill for Health Care Aide graduates.

ABM College does not provide Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) or transfer credit options for its Health Care Aide (HCA) program. However, these alternatives may be available through other Alberta government-licensed post-secondary institutions that offer approved HCA programs.
