  • Alberta High School Diploma, verified by transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent OR
  • General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D) and ALL of the following criteria:
  • Successful interview with school administration
  • Canadian Language Benchmark of 5 if students' first language is not English

Mature Admission

Students must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Successful result on Wonderlic test with passing score of 20

Course Components

Course Description: The Foundation of Digital Marketing course provides an overview of state-of-the-art information including the best practices so you can design, implement and evaluate digital marketing strategies. This course covers a comprehensive overview of the fundamental pillars of Digital Marketing including CRM, Email Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Marketing, Copywriting, Content Marketing and more. (20 hours)

Course Description: The Digital Marketing Strategy course is to develop and execute different strategies and how to use the essential elements of building a digital marketing strategy plan. Students will learn about digital marketing objectives, content strategy, modern marketing management models and will receive hands-on tools to define clients requirements. (40 hours)

Course Description: The Website Design and Optimization course introduces the different web tools to manage, maintain and update content on websites. It provides an extensive overview of the different platforms to develop and implement a functional website. Students will practice building and publishing a responsive, well-designed, high performing website that is aligned to a client's business goals. Concepts such as GDPR and Terms of Use will be explored within this course. (20 hours)

Course Description: The Business Communications and Email Marketing course provides the skills of writing, copywriting, content curation and professional interactions. The different roles of technology to enhance communication in the workplace and marketplace will be presented. Students will develop a strong understanding of email marketing and deliverability. Assignments will include hands-on tools and strategies such as Mailchimp, Constant Contacts, Send Lane and Infusionsoft to reach marketing KPI and goals. Concepts such as ethics, CASL and privacy will be covered within this course. (20 Hours)

Course Description: Students will develop techniques using the industry programming languages and tools to address a marketing target. Project management principles will be applied to track and complete projects based on real business scenarios and aligned with integrated marketing plans. Students will experience hands-on projects using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, Joomla and membership websites. (60 hours)

Course Description: The E-Commerce Principles will develop skills to design, implement and execute e-Commerce projects. It provides a comprehensive understanding of e-Commerce concepts, electronic transactions, shopping cart and product delivery. Students will use e-Commerce platforms such as Shopify, Infusionsoft, WooCommerce, PayPal, WePay, Stripe and more. (40 hours0Business Automation Tools

Course Description: The Business Automation Tools course will introduce marketing automation tools, CRM, sales pipelines and scheduling. Various automation tools to create, manage and automate business systems such as Hubspot, Ontrapport and Infusionsoft will be used. (40 hours)

Course Description: The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Principles course will explore using the power of words to create online visibility. Students will learn the anatomy of how search engines work, how to boost conversions and SEO strategy. This course will develop an understanding of the most commonly used search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing and the concept of online directories and submission strategy to rank higher in search engine using organic and paid techniques. (40 hours)

Course Description: Students will gain an understanding of consumer behaviour through engaging research models including the psychological, social and cultural concepts to decision making. The course explores internal influences such as motivation and involvement, personality, lifestyle and communication and external influences such as culture, subculture, social class and consumer decision making. (40 hours)

Course Description: Social Media for Business is a course meant to educate the use of Social Media to grow a business, to extend customer reach and to expand messages. It provides scenarios to apply social media concepts and the best practices for organic and paid marketing activities. Students will learn how to effectively design, plan and execute campaigns. Measure the quality of a campaign such as ROI and meet business objectives. Students will dive into tools such as Facebook for Business and YouTube channels and will learn how to navigate Instagram and Twitter platforms. (80 hours)

Course Description: This course will provide students with a solid understanding of the rapid evolution of the mobile marketing environment. This course will experience the user engagement with mobile and create a marketing strategy, target segment and measure campaigns using the localization of mobile devices. (40 hours)

Course Description: The Digital Media Production course provides the opportunity to create and use imagery, video, audio and different digital production. The student will create and use a combination of simple typography, photography, video and computer graphics.  (80 hours)

Course Description: The Content Marketing Strategy course provides hands-on experience, with in-demand skills for developing a content strategy and measuring its effectiveness. Students will become educated on creating and adapting messages to stories for different audiences, integrating text, images and audio-visual material, writing, editing and delivering content to attract and engage audiences. (40 hours)

Course Description: This course is all about the power of applying entrepreneurship concepts and strategies to create successful, deliverable business. Students will experience evaluating opportunity, competitive analysis, marketing, risk management and acquisitions. Project management tools will also be examined to achieve the necessary skills to plan, schedule and control a project timeline under time stress and different priorities. (40 hours)

Course Description: Digital Marketing Analytics provides the tools for consumer research within the design process as it relates to digital marketing. Topics explored in this course includes: Google Analytics, research processes, and methodologies with an emphasis on data interpretation and analysis. (60 hours)

Course Description: This course provides students with a practical and strategic foundation in online advertising and Pay Per Click (PPC) platforms. Included in this course is understanding behavioural targeting and profiling and keeping customers engaged. Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Google Adwords, paid social media ads, PPC and more. (60 hours)

Course Description: This course explores the ethics that govern digital marketing and the different legislation for applications such as Copyright, Trademarks, Privacy, PIPTA, HIPA, GDPR etc. It also includes the best practices with an introduction to the legal requirements within Digital Marketing. (20 hours)

Course Description: This program consists of a 4-week practicum placement. Students will gain practical and hands-on experience to apply the knowledge and skills they've attained with digital marketing, web development and social media marketing from their in-class training. (160 hours)
