You can start Father’s Day with a special breakfast for your dad. It can be simple breakfast. The whole idea is to take out time and show your appreciation to him. The best gift that one can offer to their parents is time. Take out time for your father and he will love it.
Make Him Handmade Gift Card
Handmade gift cards are a good idea to express your love. Such cards become much more special when you write a heartfelt note on them for your father.

Take Him Out for a Special Lunch
A special lunch outside can also be good idea. Ask your family to get ready for a Father’s Day lunch and then surprise him on the day. Take him to nice restaurant and order his favourite food. He will love it.

A good family picnic can be arranged on Father’s Day. Choose a nice location such a beach or park and then pack a basket with all the essential picnic items. Pack special food and snacks that your father likes.
If your father likes natural parks then you can also arrange a picnic there. But for that you may need to calculate your driving time so that all of you can have sufficient time to spend together.
Take Him to a Sports Store
If you father is retired and he loves to play some outdoor or indoor game, then take him to a sports store. Encourage your father to buy a few sport items at the leisure store.
You may also encourage him to start playing some game. It is a good activity that can also keep in active and busy.
You can also tell him which game you like and may be both are interested in the same game and you discover a new hobby.
Dinner at Home
Cooking a dinner at home is also a good activity. Ask your father what he will like to eat and see if you can cook that food. If you can not cook that food, bring it from a restaurant, and see if you can make other small items at home for him.
Gather Family for a Game Night
If your father like bowling, take him out. If he likes to play cards, arrange it and play with other family members.
Moreover, the popularity of video games has transcended all age groups. Many like to play video games at home. If your father enjoys video games, it can be good occasion to sit with him and play his favourite game.
Playing board games or puzzles are also some very good options for this day.
Arrange a Family Photo Shoot
This is a perfect time to get a family photo shoot. It is a good time to invite all the family members and go through a photo shoot to make perfect memories.
When was the First Father’s Day Celebrated?
The idea of a dedicated day to honour and celebrate fathers originated in the United States. Sonora Smart Dodd was inspired by American Mother’s Day celebrations and organised a day to honour fathers in the early twentieth century.
Father’s Day was originally observed on June 19, 1910, in Spokane, Washington. Since then the popularity of Father’s Day has grown across North America and the rest of the world over the years.
