At ABM College, we believe in learning, laughter, and a little bit of fright! Every October, as the leaves turn and candy aisles overflow, our campuses come alive with creativity, costumes, and community spirit. Halloween isn’t just about scares – it’s about self-expression, imagination, and connection.
It’s the time of year when skeletons leave their closets, pumpkins take over desks, and coffee mysteriously transforms into pumpkin spice. Whether you’re a die-hard horror fan or someone who prefers their Halloween cute and cozy, there’s something about this season that unites everyone. It invites a playful sense of nostalgia – remembering trick-or-treating adventures, late-night movie marathons, and the thrill of choosing just the right costume to become someone (or something) entirely new for a day.
At ABM College, we see that same spirit reflected in our students and staff year-round – people daring to reinvent themselves, try new things, and chase dreams that once seemed out of reach. Halloween just gives us a fun excuse to dress up while doing it!
A Brief (and Boo-tiful) History of Halloween

Long before it became the candy-filled celebration we know today, Halloween began as Samhain – a Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest and the start of winter’s darker days. People wore costumes to ward off wandering spirits, lit bonfires to guide loved ones home, and celebrated the turning of the seasons. Over the centuries, those traditions mixed with Christian and pop-culture influences to become the playful, pumpkin-powered holiday we celebrate now.
Sweet Treats and Sugar Rushes

Let’s be honest, Halloween without candy would be downright terrifying. Whether you’re team chocolate, team gummy, or proudly hoarding the mini chip bags, there’s something magical about this time of year. For many, it’s a nostalgic trip back to trick-or-treat nights filled with pillowcases of sugar and questionable costume choices (we all have that photo somewhere). At ABM College, we fully support indulging in sweets while studying – call it “motivational snacking”.
Spooky Screens and Pop Culture Screams

Halloween wouldn’t be complete without the eerie glow of a horror movie or gaming marathon. From timeless classics like Silent Hill and Resident Evil to supernatural blockbusters like Ghostbusters, these icons have shaped how we celebrate the spooky season. They remind us that courage, curiosity, and teamwork can overcome personal demons, zombie hordes, and even the slimiest of spectres – not a bad lesson for students chasing their own goals.
A Gourd Time Was Had by All

To get into the spirit, ABM College staff kicked off the fun with a Pumpkin Painting Party on Thursday, where creativity reigned supreme. From ghostly grins to neon-coated gourds, our pumpkins became mini works of art. The laughter, teamwork, and way-too-much wet paint made it a frightfully good time. Extra special (and completely unbiased) recognition to yours truly and my fellow content writer Navneet for our seasonal masterpiece 🎃
Costumes, Camaraderie, and Friday Frights
The celebration continues this Friday with our annual Halloween Costume Contest! Staff will showcase their spookiest, funniest, or most creative outfits for bragging rights (and maybe a few treats). It doesn’t matter whether you’re a magical warrior princess, a techy sci-fi cyborg, or a villainous vampire* – creativity is the name of the game. We can’t wait to see which clever disguises appear – bonus points if someone shows up as a Ghostbuster. Proton packs are optional, but enthusiasm is mandatory.
From Costumes to Careers

The fun of Halloween lies in transformation – stepping into a new role, even if just for a day. But sometimes, the disguise that we wear every day is the one that doesn’t quite fit anymore. Maybe from too much candy, maybe from something more existential.
Whatever the reason, if you’re ready to swap your old “career costume” for something that truly suits you, ABM College can help. Our Health, Business, and Technology programs are designed to give you the skills to build a future that feels authentic, rewarding, and exciting.
When you’re ready for a change, we’ve got something new – and just your size.
🕸 Happy Halloween from all of us at ABM College! 🎃
*Classic or Buffy Vampires only please – no Twilight ✨🙄
