International Women's day takes place on March 8 every year. This day is a celebration of respect, admiration and appreciation of women. It is also a day to celebrate and recognize women's economic, political and social achievements. This past Sunday the UN theme for International Women's day 2015 was "Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Picture it!" This marks the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration, which was a historic breakthrough for realizing women's rights. The first women's day was held all the way back in 1909! As a society we have come a long way in terms of equality for women but there is still more steps to be taken. ABM College hopes everyone had a wonderful International Women's Day! Time to celebrate our women!
