very year, International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th around the world. People from all walks of life come together to support all types of women. A focal point in the women’s rights movement, the United Nations started acknowledging this day in 1977.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2022 (IWD) is to promote a world that is equitable, diverse, and inclusive, according to the official website. “Together, we can forge women’s equality.”

The Government of Canada also has its own theme for IWD 2022, which is Women Inspiring Women. That’s because in Canada, unlike in other countries around the world, “women are free to study and be leaders in the field they choose, care and provide for their family, express who they are, and fight for their beliefs.”

At ABM College, we have diverse female staff who come from a variety of different backgrounds, who are proud to be women for their own unique reasons.

“I’m proud to be a woman because God gave me the superpower to bring a new life into this world.”

“We are strong, capable, and resilient.”

“Because it makes me who I am.”

As a multicultural workplace, we uplift the perspectives and experiences of our employees. We value our women employees and the innovative ideas, leadership, and positivity that they bring to our college. We care about their advancement, empowerment, and wellbeing.
