OVERWIEW

In order to become a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in Ontario, nurses are required to pass the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE). The examination evaluates the competencies required of entry-level nurses for safe and effective practice.

At Ontario School of Health Sciences Canadian Registered Practical Nurse Exam (CPNRE) Preparation program is specifically designed to help nursing students pass the CPNRE. The Canadian Registered Practical Nurse Exam Preparation Program reviews the specific nursing language and terminology, theory, and knowledge necessary for the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE). Success on this exam requires reviewing content tested on the CPNRE.

Who the Program is for

If you have been trained as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in Canada, and would like to work as a Registered Practical Nurse in Canada, the Canadian Registered Practical Nurse Exam Preparation Program is the right program for you. In order to work as a Registered Practical Nurse in Canada, you must first write and pass the CPNRE. Upon the completion of Ontario Academy of Health Sciences program, you will be more prepared to take the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination and achieve a passing grade.

Note: successful completion of this program does not guarantee a passing grade on the Registered Practical Nurse Canadian Exam.
 
Admission Requirements:

In order to enrol in Ontario School of Health Sciences Canadian Registered Practical Nurse Exam (CPNRE) Preparation Program, you must meet the following criteria:
  • Hold a two year Diploma in Nursing from a CNO approved institution
  • For foreign trained nurses, must be currently registered as an Registered Practical Nurse in good standing in your country of origin or a nurse graduate from the Registered Practical Nurse program in Canada
  • A minimum TOEFL score of 550 preferred (if applicable)
  • Have a minimum of 1125 hours of nursing experience within the last 4 years.
Program length, schedule and fees

4 Weeks / 2 days week
Fees: Canadian $ 600.00

Fees may be paid by, money order, certified cheque or by credit card. Fees are subject to change. Textbooks and materials are additional and must be purchased by the students. The program may be subject to change without notice.

Please note that due to the limited number of seats, students must pay a non-refundable $50 fee in order to reserve their seat.
