OVERWIEW
In order to become a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ontario, nurses are required to pass the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE). The examination measures the competencies required of entry-level nurses for safe and effective practice.
The Canadian Registered Nurse Exam (CRNE) Preparation Program provides a comprehensive review of the major concepts in nursing for preparation of the CRNE. The concepts reviewed in preparation for the CRNE includes the areas of: Medical Surgical Nursing, Psychosocial Nursing, Mental Health, Acute Care, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Community Care, and Nurse-Patient Relationship.
The Canadian Registered Nurse Exam Program begins with a review of basic nursing theory and nursing and medical language review for nursing purposes. This will equip you with the appropriate review level of nursing and medical terminology and language so that you can better understand the technical terms relevant to nursing on the CRNE. Once you have reviewed the appropriate level of nursing language and basic nursing review, the program moves into specific concepts review around nursing for the CRNE. It is presented in a modular format, which can be presented in any sequence following the introductory module.
During the last part of the Program, students undergo an intensive supervised self-study review and will write a simulation of the CRNE examination. This is a key component to the program as it is designed to further review and strengthen your ability to achieve a passing grade on the CRNE, and ultimately becoming licensed as a Registered Nurse in Canada.
