MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT
     
OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this program is to allow students to develop skills in general medical office procedures including scheduling appointments, patient records and filing. Students receive a sound basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology and an extensive knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology.

Medical Transcription, medical billing, and a variety of computer programs are included. Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students will be eligible to apply to work in hospitals, medical/ sports clinics, doctors’ office and medical insurance companies.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Standard Admission
Students must meet ONE of the following criteria:
High School Diploma, verified by transcripts.
OR General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.).

Students must meet ALL of the following criteria:
  1. Provide completed current immunization report.
  2. Provide Criminal Record Check.
Mature Admission
Students must meet ALL of the following criteria:
  1. Out of school for two years.
  2. Successful result on the ABM College entrance evaluation.
  3. Provide completed current immunization report
  4. Provide Criminal Record Check
